Yugioh Arc-V Episode 1 Review SCREW DA RULES I HAZ GREEN HAIR and episode 2 Review Nobody knows the new mechanics

Anyone reading the blog knows that I am reviewing modern day tokusastsu but what has been regarded as the first one Kamen Rider Decade (cue Onore DECADO comments) has enfluence on the currently airing Yugioh series Yugioh Arc-V so I thought I'd add it to the roster of things too review technically until late season one we don't get to the "decadisms" and the main hero of this series Yuya Sakaki isn't a real D*ck like Tskuasa Kadoya from Decade granted their are loads of hints to the whole world hopping before we get to the last 10 episodes of season one. Another thing is when Yuya is in an "Action Duel" his personality is similar too Go Shimija aka Kamen Rider Mach . In fact the Wikia is just being updated with things(including the main female character's name in the dub which is Zuzu Boyle in the Japanese name it's Yuzu Hiagri I'll have too get used too so if I screw up by putting a Y at the start of her name thats why) in fact they also noted the similarities it has to the 2013-2014 series Kamen Rider Gaim which is probably my favorite Kamen Rider series (in case your wondering why didn't I complain about it being over in my Drive pilot episode's review it's because I am satisfied with the ending we got I don't want and think it needs god knows how many after movies(see Den-o if you wanna know how that works) in fact the only after movies were just events that happened during the series) so without further ado lets get started the first episode is actually a two parter so I'm review all two parties in one post

We start the episode in a feudal Japan setting for some reasons when a fat man summons Shienken Oh uh I meant he summons two superheavy samurais too summon Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei this person is Gong he is known as Noboru Gongenzaka in the Japanese version he, is friends with Yuya, Yuya responds by OHMAHIGAWD riding a Pink Hippo in a top hat and summoning a bunch of hippos in bikinis (OH GOD WHY) luckily their friend Zuzu is here to put a stop to this insanity by telling Yuya to calm down and in her anger accidentally breaks the soild vision machine causing Yuya too fall of his monster and hit the ground than Zuzu's father Skip(Shuzo in the jappanese version I'll call the names for characters in the Japanese version who haven't gotten their english names revealed yet by their Japanese names not everyone's got their name changed Yuya still has his name in the english version) and calls his daughter a moron for destroying the only reason why their school the You Show Duel School's (That's a stupid name) claim to fame, then a kid is watching worring and Yuya sees this, then Yuya decides to cheer him up (OUR HERO THE FIRST EPISODE HAS BEARLY STARTED AND HE'S ALREADY ACTING LIKE AN IDIOT) before the intro the origins of action duels are explained somehow mass has been added too holograms allowing people too ride their duel monsters like motorcycles #CARDGAMESONMOTORYCLES (fans of 5ds and the abridged will get the joke) also cards are scattered across the playing field allowing players too make the duel more "fun". Gong gets mad at Yuya telling him he might be made fun of the way he's been dueling, next circus hitler comes................ no a man named Nico Smiley(that's his Japanese name btw I'm not lying we have all these Japanese names in the Japanese version the we have Nico it gets better latter) tells Skip who is upset that his solid vision and "hot blooded" coaching are ruined that there is a way to get the latest and greatest in solid vision technology, Yuya has too beat The Sledgehammer (in the dub he is supposed too be like Arnold Shwarznegger) (Strong Ishijima in the japans version) the raining champion who then appears on a bilboard advertisement telling people to the Duel School where all the kids with rich parents or are good at the game go to Leo institute of dueling LID for short Yuya then starts sighing upset then Gong and Zuzu warn Skip to not do this telling them they cannot let Yuya fight a champion however ok if you watch any of the rocky movies you know what happenes. His father Yusho Sakaki was the first pro at Action Dueling and was respected big time fans of Action Dueling however he was supposed to duel The Sledgehammer in an Action Duel but never showed up and was never seen again by anyone not even Yuya (Still a better fight than the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight) Yuya tried too step up when he was like what six but his mother Yoko pulled him away knowing her son cannot defeat him in an Action Duel. We then see Yuya going emo on a bridge while remembering what his father had told him while looking at his crystal snapped pendant (I should note Germany is tho only country that has carried the dub do I wanna know how much they changed Nico because he has a mustache that looks like Hitler's mustache)  then we are finally at the time for the big duel Skip claims he can almost smell the soil vision then Zuzu smacks him again (That's a gag she smacks people with her fan) However Yuya isn't there to Duel The Sledgehammer however a clown greets him and takes off his mask to be Yuya, Yuya's mother Yoko appears and say that he put a mask of foolery on to hide his sadness about his father. the duel is on the 2500 beater monster that Yuya has as his main card is called Odd Eyes Dragon it is a lvl 7 Dark attributed Dragon Effect Monster The Sledgehammer plays a battleguard deck which is based off of two cards that the character Joey Wheller used in the Original anime Yuya is in a corner however he keeps going after the action cards Odd Eyes is destroyed though Yuya is put into a corner with no way too fight back then his father's advice is in his head while his pendant is swinging like a pendulum then two of his monsters and Odd Eyes which is back in Yuya's hand due too one of The Sldgehammer's monsters effects (I think it allows him to strengthen his monster but any card destroyed by it coms back) then his monsters turn into half monster half spell hybrids. Time too demonstrate the new mechanic off the card game that was added too the card game in time around Spring 2014 when this episode intially airied Pendulum Monsters Yuya plays two of his monsters affected by this Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician both are Dark Attributed Magician Pendulum Monsters so he can play them like Spell and Trap cards in a specially designated zone only difference is Stargazer is Level 5 and Scale of 1 (Pendulum monsters have a scale) and Timegazer is Level 3 with a Scale of 8 the way pendulum monsters work is you set two in the pendulum zone then you can summon monsters between the levels of the scale Odd Eyes Dragon evolved into Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon a Level 7 Dark Dragon Pendulum Effect Monster with a Pendulum scale of 4 these two particular magicians of Yuya support Pendulums and Odd Eyes also some of Yuya's Preformpalls(basically the deck were the hippo from eariler is part of) evolved into Pendulum monsters but still have their normal name. Yuya Pendulum Summons Preformpal Whip Snake, a level 4 Earth Reptile Effect Monster, Preformpal Sword Fish, a Level 2 Water Effect Monster, and Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon, the duel concludes in the next episode.

Final Analysis a B+ the only thing holding this back from an A ranking is how cliche it is, btw I don't mind light shows if anyone is asking. Much like Gaim this show and the previous series in the Yugioh Franchise Yugioh Zexal start off insanely light hearted and kid friendly but toward the end of the 1st season(not talking about Gaim right now) and throughout the 2nd season have a darker tone.

Ok Episode 2 picks off right where the previous episode leaves off Yuya has Pendulum summoned and is making his comeback to defeat The Sledgehammer so without further ado lets get started if this one is a tad bit shorter than the previous one it's because not as much happens here

   Yuya has just created a new method of summoning right out of thin air, meanwhile at the Leo Corporation some men with science stuff are observing and a tall man in glasses wants to know who created said method. Yuya attacks The Sledgehammer's Monster, who believes Yuya cheated and activates a trap card however Yuya's Timegazer magician's pendulum effect negates it, he tries to use a spell card but Stargazer negates that as well, after this The Sledgehammer's title has been replaced by Yuya Sakaki and he goes overseas to train. The next day everyone wants too duel Yuya and have their own Pendulum Zuzu is chosen too duel Yuya. Yuya again opens up with Preformpal Hip Hippo(the hippo with the top hat) which is a Level 3, Earth Beast Effect Monster, Zuzu counterattacks with her Aria the Melodious Diva a level 4 Light Fairy Effect Monster  everything goes great until Zuzu summons her Sonata the Melodious Diva a level 4 Light Light Fairy Effect Monster then tribbutes to summon Mozarta the Melodious Maestra a Level 8 Light Fairy Effect monster. Yuya tries to Pendulum Summon but he fails he then, believes that he can only pendulum Summon whenever he has his back against the wall and attempts it again only too fail and Zuzu attacks with her Mozarta and wins. The spectators learn only Pendulum monsters can be used to spam Pendulum Summons and believe that Yuya cheated Yuya gets upset, but one young boy Tetsuya is still inspired and two other kids are inspired as well then Yuya joins the You Show Duel School. Finally The mysterious Tall man at LDS asks a man at the bar playing darts to find out more about the Pendulum Monsters.(we'll get into why he is interested in the pendulum monsters it does have to  with the world hopping)

Final Analysis C Nothing really happened hear and this episode sums up why most of the time at least in Season 1 Arc-V reviews I''l be tackling multiple episodes per posts due too fillier in fact there is only one episode in Season one that I know I can do in one post  without having too rush the next one while still trying too provide the details don't worry much like Zexal when it picks up it's pace it's pretty awesome.
